The Center for Student Accountability, Growth, and Education (SAGE)

The Center for Student Accountability, Growth, and Education (SAGE) employs twelve, full-time professional staff members including the Director, Associate Director, Assistant Director, Student Conduct and Compliance Coordinators, Administrative Assistant, Assessment and Communcations Coordinator, and Policy & Programs Specialists.     Memberships: Association for Student Conduct Administration, San Diego Student Conduct Officers (founder), State Bar of California, UC Student Conduct Officers.

    Involvement: Served as a mediator for the Riverside County Community Action Partnership (2019), trained UC Irvine's Student Conduct Review Boards (2014-2017), founded San Diego Student Conduct Officers group, moderated the student conduct panel for Western Region Careers in Student Affairs Day (2015, 2017), served on the Temecula Education Foundation Board of Directors (2018-19) and coached son's flag football team (2015-19).

    Before coming to UC San Diego in 2010, Ben spent six years in the Office of Student Conduct and Community Responsibility at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. He also worked in athletics for a variety of institutions and organizations. He also enjoys spending time with his family, watching soccer and baseball, and working on family history projects. His favorite parts about working in higher education are weaving together law, policy and student development while mentoring students and younger professionals in their personal and professional development.

    Involvement: Exemplary Employee of the Year, Co-Chairs the Restorative Justice Committee at UC San Diego, facilitates Restorative Justice Circles and Conferences, Advises the Community Standards Board, Two-time National Residence Hall Honorary Spotlight Award winner, Serves on several committees on Clery Act Compliance, Athletics Equity, Inclusion and Diversity, Behavioral Threat Assessment, Students of Concern, and Coordinates Respondent Support Services

    Before joining the Office of Student Conduct in 2006, Natania worked as a Social Worker in Florida, and as an assistant in a Law Office in New York, her home state. Natania is proficient in English and Haitian-Creole. She is also conversational in French and Spanish. Natania does not have much free time because she has a young son that keeps her very busy. When she does get some free time however, she loves to bake. Her specialty is rum cake! Her favorite part about working on campus is getting to help students get back on track personally and academically.

    Before joining the Office of Student Conduct, Ivana worked as a Litigation Case Manager for a Law Office in Los Angeles. Ivana is fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian. She found her passion for advocacy and policy during her two years at Mt. San Antonio College where she travelled to Washington DC to advocate for additional funding for programs that support first-generation and low income students. After two years, Ivana transferred to the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she established her passion for education policy and law. Since then, Ivana has completed her Masters from the University of Southern California and joined the Triton family. Ivana plans to attend law school and establish herself as a legal professional in higher education.

    Before joining the Office of Student Conduct, Jordan worked as the Executive Assistant for second-year nursing students in Cork, Ireland at University College Cork in the School of Nursing and Midwifery. Prior to that, Jordan grew up in San Diego. San Diego is also where she completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at CSU San Marcos and University of San Diego respectively. Jordan’s favorite part about working at UC San Diego is interacting with students and assisting them with the conduct process.

    Before joining the Office of Student Conduct, Deanna worked with Dreamer Support Services at San Diego Miramar College. She found her passion for student affairs as an undergraduate student involved in clubs and organizations at Southern Connecticut State University. During her graduate studies, she worked primarily in Residence Life at Southern Connecticut State University. Deanna served in both programmatic and operational roles, ultimately as a Hall Director before moving to sunny San Diego. Deanna is very excited to be part of the UC San Diego community!

    Caitlin's pronouns are she/her/hers. Caitlin is completing a Master of Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine Caruso School of Law. She has worked in the Office of Student Conduct since 2014. Before that Caitlin worked in Muir College Residential Life and the Intercollegiate Athletics Department. A San Diego "local" and UC San Diego alumni, her favorite parts about working here are giving back to the community, collaborating with peers, and working with students.

    Before joining the Student COVID-19 Compliance Team, Leann worked at the County of San Diego as a Human Service Specialist. In addition, she spent over 3 years at Family Health Centers of San Diego as a Patient Service Representative, and later a Case Manager for Physical Rehabilitation. Originally from San Francisco, Leann enjoys the San Diego weather. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Leann is thrilled to be part of the UC San Diego community.

     Before joining the Office of Student Conduct, Shirley worked as a COVID-19 Family and Community Support Specialist, and Project Policy Analyst for the Student Affairs Tech Lending Program. Prior to joining UC San Diego, she worked as an administrative professional in both the non-profit and public sector.  She brings to this role, experience as an organizational, mission-aligned professional, and is intentional about team building and collaboration.   She aims to use her role to cultivate student responsibility and accountability within the campus community.  As a newcomer to UC San Diego, the experience has been friendly and supportive.  In her spare time, Shirley enjoys producing and performing live spoken word events with music, live paint and other artistic expressions.

    Before joining UC San Diego University, MyLinh was working in Human Resources outside of higher education. Her higher education journey started in Residential Life as an undergraduate. Her professional roles continued in Residential Life as well as Multicultural Services and Student Engagement. In her free time, she loves spoiling her dog and trying new restaurants. MyLinh’s favorite part of working for UCSD are her great coworkers who are always student centered and innovative.

    Karlee's pronouns are she/her/hers. Before joining the Office of Student Conduct, Karlee supported the Student Affairs Case Management Services and other UCSD departments. She is experienced in data analysis, data interpretation, with certifications in CITI Social and Behavioral Research. Her creative passions include graphic design, media production, and event organization. Karlee's favorite part about working in higher education is connecting with bright and inspiring students.
